I really like my Everio. It is light and fairly compact, altho there are other little videocams that are even smaller. But it is much lighter than a tape or HD type camcorder. There is one wierd thing about the flash memory that is a bit unhandy. The labelling of the clips seems kind of random. The video from the last card has two labelling schemes. From September 19 there is a series of clips running from 5:47 PM to 6:00 Pm labelled mov 03A to mov 03F. There is also a series from the same date mov037 to 044 timed from 3:44PM to 6:23PM. Notice the overlap? The lettered clips tuck in between 039 and 040. There are not big time gaps between the two series. less than two minutes at each end of the lettered series. There are also some clips from August 30 that showed the same behavior This is all on the same card so I have no idea why this happens. One other thing that I am learning to watch for: My daughter changed cards in the middle of an activity so I got the second one after some delay. I had already made a DVD from the one card when I got the second one and there was a short segment on the first that belonged with the second. So I had to go back to the DVD and copy a vob file to the computer so I could put the segment from the DVD with the clips that came on the second card. (Did you get all of that? Confusing to read but even worse when I have to try to keep track of the dates and times involved.) In conclusion: This is my third DVD with video from this camcorder and it makes really nice home videos.
